A BOOK IT! UPDATE

Last month, I said I was going to reward myself with $1 for every 1,000 words I wrote or every 1 book I read. I promised to update you, so here I am!

READING

I was a little chaotic with my reading this month. I had such lofty goals and between DNFing two separate books and having to jump around to a few different reading genres, I only finished checks notes three books this month so far. I know we still have 6 days left of the month so I’m hoping to finish three more that I’m most of the way through.

Finished:

  • A Wolf Steps In Blood by Tamara Jerée (ebook)

  • Full Shift by Jennifer Dugan and Kit Seaton (graphic novel ebook)

  • Love and Other Conspiracies by Mallory Marlowe (audiobook)

Hoping to Finish:

  • My Roommate is a Vampire by Jenna Levine (audiobook)

  • Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail by Ashley Herring Blake (physical book)

  • The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna (ebook, but it just went back to the library so perhaps my Spotify audiobook hours will go to finishing it this month)

WRITING

As I mentioned, I’m working on two different writing projects right now, which is my first time doing this in the same phase. I’ve revised a project while drafting a different one before, but never two drafting projects and I’ve been finding it difficult to switch back and forth between them.

  1. The first draft of Werewolf Romcom2. As of this morning, I’ve written 6k of it.

  2. Some fun cozy fantasy sample pages for my agent. My goal for the entire sample is 10k and I’m at 4k as of this morning.

So, for those of you keeping track at home, I have $13 in my BOOK IT! account. I haven’t decided what I’m saving up for yet, but it might be a FreeWrite.
